Ikus-esparru zabalduak (Expanded Optical Spaces) 2016-2018
Expanded Optical Spaces discusses the issue of inhabiting. Nowadays, the constructions we inhabit according to the economic and dimensional stand-ards do not adjust to the needs of each individual, but it is the individual him/herself the one who must adjust to those spaces according to his/her eco-nomic potential.
In this work, I address this global issue from a very personal experience and point of view. This habitat, home, house, shelter, space of intimacy, daily life and routine, is –in my case– a creative space that has not only determined and defined my work production, formats and material nature, but it has also nour-ished a constant search.
Luise Bourgeois, throughout her life, declares on several occasions that "ar-chitecture must be an object of our memory" and "memory is a form of architec-ture". By using architecture as a symbolic element, I will build a place for memory, showing an imaginary and transparent spatiality, open to the specta-tor and offering memories about creation.
Inhabit. Think. Construct. Architecture as a stage for the show of life, of the eve-ryday life, but also for creation and construction.
